More progress is taking place on Maisto Mountain!
This week (week of 11/2/15) our siding arrived via Biggins Construction. We have a light gray vertical metal siding being applied with dark gray going on as the trim and the soffit areas. You can see from the pictures how it looks, and we are very pleased with the outcome!
Brad also has worked with our plumber to complete the rough-in plumbing, and the electrician began the the rough-in electrical work this week. Heating and air work began on Saturday, too, so the interior “guts” of the home are really taking shape. It’s an exciting time on our hill!
Meanwhile, during Sarah’s birthday weekend, we brought another UHaul full of garage and barn items from Avon down to our Grandview barn. Moving is quite a process, you know, especially since Brad has owned the Avon home for 20-plus years. We also were able to enjoy the beautiful fall leaves on our property and road, and we’ve included a couple of the pictures we took. We are looking forward to many beautiful autumn afternoons hiking up the road, in the woods, and sitting on our back deck.
Back at the ranch in Avon, it turns out that Sarah is pretty handy with a wheelbarrow. She has been bringing in items from the yard to the barn or garage so they are easier to move during a winter or early spring move. Many of you may know that Brad is a rock collector and gardener, so Sarah began with bringing in those items. Only 11 banana boxes of rocks are in the garage so far. (Yes, we’re serious.) Sarah has a couple more piles to go. This is a fabulous core workout – no planking required or gym equipment needed!
In the meantime, as far as house construction is concerned, we continue to make decisions regarding flooring, lighting, and other interior decisions. We are making steady progress toward completing our home!
